A Sci-Fi Smackdown
++Heard that old Hozier song on the radio yesterday and said "Hey Hoze, where ya been hidin' ya biggole weirdo?" (He loves when you call him Hoze.)
++Listened to this wonderful old interview on You Tube with Terry Gross and Queen's Brian May, who I've written about on these pages before. I knew that outside of being the lead guitarist of Queen he was a Doctor in astrophysics, however, I didn't know about his interest in stereoscopic photography.
I wish I knew about May's book with Owl viewer at Xmas because I would have asked for one. Stereoscopic technology, if ya Google it, has been around since the early days of photography and is a distant relative of one of my fave childhood toys, The ViewMaster. (And predates those kool Magic Eye posters.) On the music tip one of the best parts of the talk is where he talks about using old church boards and the physics behind the voluminous sounding (though non-echoing)claps on We Will Rock You. See kids, you do use the math later.
