++The L.A. Times is reporting that cassette tapes are making a comeback. This is also good news for the BIC pen company and the pen caps that you used to use manually rewind the tapes back in the cave days.

++While other bands play dark dirty clubs, Brooklyn's One Ring Zero make their way round the book award ceremony and children's festival circuits. The band has harvested lyrics from authors Margaret Atwood and Dave Eggers in the past and a song on their new album Planets (due September 7th) has author Rick Moody singing and Hamilton Berry from Vampire Weekend on cello. Somewhere Steve King and Dave Barry are sulking.
