++A little correction from the inbox on Villagers, who I posted on the other day. Villagers is indeed the name of the band lead by Conor J. O'Brien, and not his stage name. And the name of the album that comes out on June 8th is called Becoming A Jackal.
++Also from the box: Danzig returns after a 6 year absence from music with Deth Red Sabaoth, out June 22nd. Says Glenn: "I think that fans will really dig this new album...I've been told several times that the album has a cool vitality to it. You'll hear real reverb, real tremolo on this album, which sounds
completely different than the stuff that's done with computer
chips."
++Feeling this song by Life After Modelling, who are professional associates of Villagers. It's got kind of a Madness/Fountains of Wayne/Weezer energy to it that's decidedly late 90s, i.e, due for a return. Especially the perfectly imperfect power rock way the drums are a little too loud/overly miked up.
Not sure why Life After Modelling wear these masks or who that's supposed to be. Maybe it's a Point Break or juggalo thing. Why does no one wear a mask of Mask? That would be kind of mindblowing.
++I wonder if later on James Cameron slow jammed the boasting?
++Oh man, Das Racist's You Oughta Know is cracking me up.
