++This coming March 10th the American Cinematheque will be presenting The Heart Is A Drum Machine, a documentary in which Isaac Brock,  Britt Daniel, Jason Schwartzman, George Clinton, Juliette Lewis and many many more talk about their love of music. More info here, and you can buy tix here.

Herbie

++Herbie Hancock has a ton of friends and he has enlisted them to help with The Imagine Project, a CD and documentary set to be released on June 22nd. I'm re-reading this press release and cannot believe that Hancock will be celebrating his 70th birthday on that date!

The project's theme will be peace and global responsibility and the unity of cultures. Sharing a piece of the proverbial collaborative birthday cake with Hancock will be Seal, Ravi Shankar's daughter Anoushka Shankar, Chaka Khan, Chaka Khan, Pink, Lisa Hannigan, Dave Matthews, Juanes and a little something by Jeff Beck, who my husband contends is the greatest living guitarist.
