++Mark Ronson and Bebel Gilberto have teamed up on a song originally done by Sergio Mendes and written by Stevie Wonder called the Real Thing, off of Gilberto's new album All In One:
++Here's yet another new folk song by Daniel, Fred & Julie as in Daniel Romano from Attack In Black and Julie Doiron from Eric's Trip. This somber song, about a doomed rambling man would be a perfect adjoiner to this much used rock line. The album comes out on December 1st.
++This was interesting: East coast duo Dragon Turtle will be releasing Almanac on November 10th. It was recorded in an old empty roller rink for maximum reverb. The single below, Island of Broken Glass takes its name from Robert Smithson's sculptural work. (Remind me never to eat the Broken Glass torte at his house!) The cover art, above, shows a double helix of burning books.
