One Fine Day
Juan Maclean's newest work, The Future Will Come, is an Amoeba pick for the month of May:
"With more seductive vocals from Nancy Whang and more help from James Murphy, Juan Maclean is back with more ballsy Human League-esque (early Human League, dammit) electro confrontation. You will be reincarnated as a dancing robot in Blade Runnerland, should you fully dig the new Juan Maclean!"
I like how Maclean is alternately referred to as Juwan "The Juan Maclean" in many places, much like how Quincy Jones is usually referred to as "The Legendary Quincy Jones."
In the following really-cool-looking video for the song One Day, a couple attempts to work out their interpersonal issues along with those of their hologrammed selves. Talk about a complicated relationship. They're probably arguing over whose hologram ordered the Wayans Brother movie on Pay per view. No one ever wants to cop to that.
(the juan maclean one day mp3 used to be here. one day, a long time ago, a day that is now passed.)
