A few weeks back I wrote about my admiration for Natalie Merchant's hearty, bassoon-like voice and how unique it sounds in a sea of wispy indie waif girls. Girl's whose voices couldn't take off the top layer of a coat of Flirty Feminity nail polish. Well, Mz. Merchant's got competition! It comes in the form of Erika Wennestrom, lead singer of Heartless Bastards:
