HOW-ston
Studio owner and "sloppy hi-fi" musician John Vanderslice has the reputation of being the "nicest guy in indie rock" and I can attest to the fact that he totally is. I think I've blogged before about how, being the weirdo fan I am I once emailed him on a lark and he emailed me back. Which he shouldn't have done because it only encourages me, frankly.
JV is working on a new album and starting a small series of North American tour dates starting in Seattle and culminating in New York with the grand opening of 92Y Tribeca at the intersection of Canal and Hudson (that's pronounced "HOW-ston" for any tourists not wanting to sound lame..)streets. Below are a few songs from my favorite album of his Time Travel is Lonely. If you've never heard his music play his songs good and loud.
