Clue
Here are a few things I learned over the weekend:
- One of the best soccer players in the world is named Kaka. He's Brazilian and the emphasis is on the second syllable. Still... Kaka....hee hee. (I'm 5 years old.)
- Been watching parts of a fabulous documentary about singer Gram Parsons called Fallen Angel. Thus far my favorite part of the movie has been the discussion of his "Nudie Jacket." Parsons worked with a local leather jacket designer named Manuel, who embroidered in designs of Parsons' request including a variety of pharmaceuticals, a cholo type cross on the back, marijuana plants, naked women and flames from hell. Interesting stuff. You can see more of it here (from swer.net):
Parsons was like best buds with Keith Richards, who in this movie is actually understandable. And how come every time there's a fallen rock star Pamela Des Barres is always somewhere in the vicinity? She's like Col. Mustard in the library with a wrench. In every documentary.
And lastly, I've really been digging on the song Fancy Footwork by Chromeo, especially the GunsNBombs* remix. I'm a little short on time but if you want to find it go to Covertcuriosity.blogspot.com and scroll down to the Flufftronix mix he has up. Minutes 8:00 through 11:00 specifically, are sublime. Brain-meltingly good for those who like house-ish or workout music.

Ooh, and the Disconappers put up a video of Blonde Redhead with Miranda July!
Roight!
